THE GOOD

I'm in 1st place in 4 categories and 2nd in another! Chris Paul and Manu Ginobili have been spectacular and the main reason I'm on top in steals and assists. Dwight Howard is dominating! The Man-Beast is getting plenty of help on the boards from Al Horford, David West, and even Mike Miller. I'm 1st in points and 2nd in FG% even tho Carmelo can perform much better in those 2 cats.

My guards are very talented. I spent over half my free agent budget to get Antonio Daniels after Arenas went down, so he should solidify my 1st place finish in assists. The main reason I wanted him tho was to give me a boost in FT%. Over the past 3 years, he's averaged 3.2 FT attempts per game on 83.2% shooting. Rafer Alston is almost expendable at this point thanks to the emergence of Louis Williams and Jordan Farmar.

I was able to sneak in a winning $3 bid for Corey Brewer last week. If he was still available, he'd easily go for over $100 this Sunday (timing is key when it comes to bidding on free agents). I'm teaming Brewer up with his former Florida Gator teammate Al Horford. The 2 rookies should get only get better as the season goes on...

THE BAD

I don't like to be in the bottom half of any category, but my team is currently struggling in 3 areas: blocks, threes, and FT%. My blocks have been weak, but I'm just 8 swats behind the 5th place guy. After combining for 5.23 threes per game last season, Mike Miller and Alston are making just 3.16 per game early on. Luckily, I'm just 11 threes behind the 6th place guy, so I just need them to get hot. Things are a little more grim for my 75.1% FT shooting. It will be hard to move up in that cat with Howard and Horford dragging me down.

Boris Diaw has been a big disappointment and I'm pretty thin at forward as a result. I'm going to hang onto him because of his upside, but I'll have to spot-start Brewer and Barnes until Diaw starts performing. I could use another sharpshooter to boost my threes and FT%. Guys like Radmanovic and Carroll are available, but they're not very reliable. I also spent a pretty penny to get Daniels, so I'll have to be very conservative about my free agent spending from here on out.

OUTLOOK

I'm very happy with this team. De La Evil is dominating 5 cats and has plenty of room for improvement in the other 3. Alston and Diaw can't play any worse and Carmelo should improve as well. I have several young guns (Williams, Farmar, Brewer, Horford) with a lot of upside because they will probably play more minutes as the season goes on. Barring a major injury to one of my stars, I feel very confident about De La Evil winning this league.

The #2 team has a solid shot at winning because he has a killer center duo in Marcus Camby and Chris Kaman and 2 injured superstars on his bench in Gilbert Arenas and Elton Brand. However, if you look at these 4 players that he started this week, you'll see that his team has no depth: Willie Green, Rashad McCants, Marko Jaric, Antoine Walker. Excuse me, I'm going to go vomit now...
